Leigh Lambert’s ‘The Ship That Dad Built’ is a captivating original piece that beautifully blends humour with nostalgia. Known for his distinctive style, Lambert uses monochromatic backgrounds with strategic splashes of colour to bring his scenes to life. In this artwork, a crowd gathers to witness the launch of a grand ship, with a child perched on an adult’s shoulders, adding a touch of whimsy and warmth. The muted greys of the crowd and ship contrast with the vibrant blue and yellow of the child’s clothing, drawing the viewer’s eye. This piece, measuring 61 × 53 cm framed, is a testament to Lambert’s ability to capture everyday moments with charm and wit. It would make a delightful addition to any collection, offering both visual appeal and a conversation starter.
